The first commercial 
tea plantation started 
in 1857 at Mulnichera, 
Sylhet. Now, Bangladesh 
has a total number of 
163 tea estates and 
the 114 tea factories.

Many are descendants of tribal laborers brought from central India by the British @Chaghor Tea Capital of Bangladesh The main regions for tea  production in Bangladesh  are Sylhet and Sreemangal.  And the Srimongal region  considered the tea capital of  Bangladesh.
